How to generate FCS codes on 2012 BMW F30 with CIC

Last week, i happened to get FSC generator for navigation systems and managed to use this one on my 2012 F30 with CIC.

Password: “Eintracht_Frankfurt”

It generates the FSC in three steps (READ FSC – DECODE FSC – GENERATE FSC). But you have to change the “year-parameter” in the batch-file to a later map (e.g. 2016 – or even later – instead of 2014), then it works perfectly.

The Default 0x06 for 2014 does not work, but 0x09 does!

In addition, you’ll need an BMW ENET cable and a working EDIABAS installation (32-bit – It does not run on 64-bit Windows!):

Basic Steps:

1. Read the navi FSC using the swid_reader.

2. Disconnect your latptop from the car (it’s no longer needed).

3. Decode the FSC code using the supplied b64dec tool.

4. Feed the decoded fsc code to fsc.exe along with the region (0x2d) and map sequence code (0x08 for NA Premium 2014-2).

5. This will output the “short” FSC code for your car.

6. Plug the USB stick with the maps into the glovebox USB port with the ignition on.

7. The car will say that an updated map is available. Click OK and it will prompt you to enter the short FSC via iDirve.

8. Enter the code output by the FSC generator and if everything is good, it will start loading.

The FSC code from BMW is very expensive. But now i think i can save a buck.

Reason for some with one PCB and some with two PCBs:

The Multidiag pro are produced in different factories so that they come with different PCB design.

Quality differences:

According to user feedback and engineers’ verification, Multidiag pro + with one PCB is almost the same with that with two PCBs; that is, there is not much difference in terms of quality.

Both of them can work well with 2014.03 DS150E OR W-O-W software on WIN7, WIN8, Windows XP system, for both cars and trucks diagnosis.

Review on Autel MaxiDas DS708 for OBD I old cars

The local Autel shop is peddling the Autel MaxiDas DS708. It seems to be a fairly inclusive scan tool at a price that is attractive enough that I am strongly considering purchasing one for personal use…

From what I can tell, they are relatively new to the US market and nobody around here has heard of them, so before I buy one (yes I’ll demo it too) I’d like some input from those who have seen one in the wild…

The problem is that I want OBD 1 coverage AND ABS/airbag, something that the average sub 400.00 scan tool wont do… Some one says DS708 is disappointing in the coverage of older vehicles – it works on none of old Japanese plugs – Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, the only OBDI it works on is Honda, it’s useless on the rest. But does Mercedes and BMW.

Some days later, I had the MaxiDas unit on demo from the diyobd2. I can say that I’ll likely opt not to buy it. One of the big reasons for me buying a tool of this caliber is to be able to use it on the wife’s OBD I car and access her ABS and airbag info. This unit will not communicate with OBD I in site of the fact that it comes with the GM 12 pin connector. Also noticed some (simple) spelling errors (like engein instead of engine). Not sure why that bugs me but it does. I plugged it into an 03 Olds Alero and was pleasantly surprised at it’s level of accessibility. I could reprogram key fobs, reset trans adaptives, do CKP variation relearns and command several relays and widgets for testing purposes. Also had access to all live data in the BCM, SRS and ABS.

The Snap-On rep stopped by this week and made a smoking deal on a China site. It’s supposed to be faster than previous offerings and still be quite capable.

I got the Autel DS708 unit this Monday. I have to say how lucky i am can get it with the best price (€ 699). It’s said that DS708 has been stopped production and now at sales in China. I am sure it is original one as before for i have taken it to the local shop to verify. So now, if anyone has specific questions concerning it, feel free to ask.

This is the instruction on how to install Orange5 v1.34 programming software on Windows XP/7/8.

Free download Orange-5 software:

Note：

Warning will pop up sometimes when install device on some laptops for the first time. Just reconnected the device will be OK.

Orange5 setup:

Open my computer/orange5 (E:)/software, then move “orange5v1.34” to the desktop

Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)

Choose the search and installation options

Please wait while the wizard searches…

The device cannot start, and then click finish to start a troubleshooter that can help you resolve the problem.

Setup computer management (local)->Device Manager->universal serial bus controllers->ORANGES USB

Unplug orange 5 USB cable then replug, you will see the drive is working.

Open Orange programmer CnClab

Select options-hardware, click test

Hardware is ok

Select type: Group-MicroChip; Chip-93C66

Read chip 93C66

Choose 93LC56, 93LC46 and read

Notice: do not choose the wrong chip.

Cancel “Chip not responds at 0000”

Choose 93LC66 and read. Then save them in file named Toyota 1 on the desktop

Click erase

Buffer is EMPTY! Write and read 93LC66

Open Toyota 1

Write and read 93LC66

Choose Buffer-checksum

No so expensive and have BGA password calculation

VVDI MB BGA Tool product no so expensive why not ask mi and nec prog 57 and diagsped lower price minimum 6000 euro with price between 100 and 200 eurp password calculation.

When this tool comes out with accepted price all ask about free password calculation

I am sure that this tool will be number 1 in market

Xhorse VVDI MB BGA Tool what works:

  1. Test nec soket for reading KEY ROM 57 nô problem

just when need write not possible, via Ir Is ok

  1. Test password from 212 new model super, good tool need pay 2 tokens, need 10 min all ok
  1. All key lost: its only about EIS type, Xhorse Company have tested W166 W246 W212 FBS3 all key lost ok.

Sure it can do all key lost on w212 as the same as Mehaco /nec pro51/ mercedesinstrument, but cheaper.

W204 and w212 eis are different. Yea on fbs4 nothing can be made. But 2010 w212 is fbs3.. so all keys lost sure is posible on this model..W204 facelift has fbs4 and it comes without esl/elv so another way to distinguish it.

Parts of 2014 & Mostly model of 2015 (and after 2015)is FBS4,currently cannot support FBS4 type.

User can Auto detect the EIS.if can detect the type but can’t read the EIS data,should be FBS4.

I use VVDI MB BGA tool test read data with obd2 210 k line working and 204 car read with obd 2 but 211 not read with obd2.

Solution:

read eis via obd for W164, W169, W211, W209, require gateway connected, I mean read while EZS is connected to the car, If you test on bench, also need to connect gateway.

Considering I cannot ask customer or mechanic to send me also gateway for make a keys ,in many cases MB owner send us the eis .

You can read old EIS Motorola type by K line only but not obd like 208 209 210 211 and 220 using vvdi.

Universal diagnostic tools always cost a lot, you know. So does J-diag j2534. It cost € 1,999. But, it’s worth every penny. This tool support update online for life time.

Step 1- open the DICE ALL-IN-ONE software on Desktop

(MUST make sure the status of VIDA is running)

Input the user ID to login

 

Step 2- connect J-diag elite to laptop usb and obdii cable to the car’s obdii port

Step 3- choose Jdiag hardware

Click READ VEHICLE to read vehicle information

 

 

Step 4- work with VOLVO VIDA on VOLVO C30 2009

Very easy to operate.. The same as the individual device. Sorry for my screenshots with bad resolution. But i hope this helps someone indeed.

How to solve Xprog-m v5.50 error “Can’t find the key”

Xprog-m v5.50 ECU programmer meets with error “Can’t find the key”?? Useful tips are offered here by diyobd2 engineers.

Error message:

Xprog-m v5.50 info “Can’t find the key!”

 

Possible reasons:

1- insert USB key

2- use the wrong software

 

Solution:

1- not insert usb key

2- install XPROG-5.50-without-usb-key.zip:

Attention when using xprog-m 5.50

  1. Close all of the computer anti-software. If not, X-prog software may be killed.
  2. Disconnect the internet. If not, the internet may damage the hardware.
  3. Uninstall all the old xprog-m, or xprog box software, make sure that your PC only install our software for our xprog-box 5.50 , our xprog-box hardware cannot work with other lower or higher software. If not, the hardware will be damaged, and will lose its warranty…
  4. Never try to UPDATE, the hardware will be damaged if you want to try to upgrade it online, without any warranty.
  5. We cannot refund, cannot exchange, can not repair if you do not listen to those advices. It means that you accept those conditions if you have ordered our xprog-box.

How to reset Volvo S60 SRS Airbag warning light using Vida Dice 2014A

If you recently got an “SRS Airbag Service Urgent” warning light and would like to get it reset, this guide might be helpful. Here I used VIDA 2014A clone with a Dice brought from diyobd2 and did it on my 2003 Volvo S60 AWD 2.5T.

Disclaimer: This is how I did my car so it may be different from other and now I am sharing my knowledge to you. The modification, if carried out is of responsibility of you.

System requirement:

  1. O/S: Windows 7 prefer (The 2014A vida is compatible with Windows 7 system. )
  2. Browser: Internet Explorer 8
  3. Computer memory: Over 2GRAM
  4. C Disk storage: 40GB space

Preparation:

First install the Volvo Vida Dice 2014A software. Follow this video to install it:

Click on Vehicle Profile and under “Communication tools” select your Dice to “Read your car”.

Steps to reset “SRS Airbag Service Urgent” warning light:

-First open up the software and go to Fault Trace.

-Then delivery tab.

-Scroll down and click “READ ALL” to get all your error code.(get all error code check first)

-After error code get checked click on “ERASE ALL” to clear all code.

-> I would note though this interface 4/5 because it lacked the plug spring (do nothing prevents a static diag … but more hassle for LOG wheelchair …)
